This birthday cake was to be a big surprise for the birthday girl CC. I'm sure she was a little surprised when she was presented with this...

Devil's Food Chocolate Cupcakes - 15 December 2009
True to its name - devil's food - they were sinfully delicious! My mum's workmates wholeheartedly agreed after I made her a batch to take for morning tea. I would have to say, hands down, the best chocolate cupcakes I've ever made or tasted.
Bold statement I know!

I had the cupcake bug after that, so I made some cappuccino cupcakes to compliment the chocolate.

Lucy & Davida's 21st Birthday - 22 Novemeber 2009
Awhile back I catered for Rachel's 1st birthday party (remember the castle cake) and through this, Lucy was referred to me. Referrals are always a fantastic compliment so I was really happy to be apart of their special day.
The theme was a High Tea which had lots of little finger food from mocha cupcakes to passionfruit cupcakes and even mini fruit tarts! Lots of lots of baking!
Fairy bread
Mini corn quiches
Assorted sandwiches
The main birthday cake was a chocolate cake with a cream filling. I had a lot of fun with the colours, however my hands didn't like the black colouring! I really loved the pink and black ribbon and felt it gave the cake that real "birthday present" feel to it.
