This birthday cake was to be a big surprise for the birthday girl CC. I'm sure she was a little surprised when she was presented with this...

Devil's Food Chocolate Cupcakes - 15 December 2009
True to its name - devil's food - they were sinfully delicious! My mum's workmates wholeheartedly agreed after I made her a batch to take for morning tea. I would have to say, hands down, the best chocolate cupcakes I've ever made or tasted.
Bold statement I know!

I had the cupcake bug after that, so I made some cappuccino cupcakes to compliment the chocolate.

Lucy & Davida's 21st Birthday - 22 Novemeber 2009
Awhile back I catered for Rachel's 1st birthday party (remember the castle cake) and through this, Lucy was referred to me. Referrals are always a fantastic compliment so I was really happy to be apart of their special day.
The theme was a High Tea which had lots of little finger food from mocha cupcakes to passionfruit cupcakes and even mini fruit tarts! Lots of lots of baking!
Fairy bread
Mini corn quiches
Assorted sandwiches
The main birthday cake was a chocolate cake with a cream filling. I had a lot of fun with the colours, however my hands didn't like the black colouring! I really loved the pink and black ribbon and felt it gave the cake that real "birthday present" feel to it.

Winkie's 25th Birthday - 13 August 2009
Elkie's sister Winkie turned 25 on 13 Aug 09 and to celebrate the momentous occasion I made a white chocolate mud cake with a white chocolate ganache. It was all a huge surprise that Elkie had organised and Winkie sure looked like she enjoyed every moment of it.
Elkie wanted the big cupcake with purple icing and i was a little worried about the colour purple. All in all I thought the colour came out really well...albeit a few mishaps along the way (insert 3am drama - icing pipe bag broke and i thought i was going to run out of icing lol). It was the first time i got to make this huge cupcake cake and I couldn't have been more thrilled with the outcome.

Rachel's 1st Birthday - 25th July 2009
When Rachel's dad and mum approached me to do her party, I was over the moon with excitement! I really got to show a more creative and magical side with the castle cake to the choc chip mice. Such a wonderful day and an absolute pleasure to help Zane and Nicole with their cute little girl's birthday treats!

Linda's Baby Shower - 3rd May 2009
I was delighted when my dear friend Linda asked Elkie and I to plan her baby shower! I just went crazy with the food, organising games and planning...I had so much fun and would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Such a wonderful, special and beautiful day; one that i will treasure. And in case you were wondering, Linda gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Monique, on the 9th of June 09.
